Film: 'Creating Growth'

In the early morning, we filmed this 2-minute case study video of creative agency fresh Group and NVM, their backers. NVM wanted to demo their investment work to prospective customers. Titled 'Creating growth', it explains the vision of the fresh Group and how NVM have participated. It was a 1-day shoot, a 2-day edit and approximately 1 day of pre-production. Bright minds and seriously playful creatives at fresh Group - wonderful to work with.

The challenge

fresh Group is one of the UK's fastest growing creative agencies. At the time of filming, they were expanding into new markets, and had had secured NVM backing to accelerate the process. NVM wanted a record of their work.

Our task

Our goal was to portray the fresh Group authentically and help their backers, NVM reach new potential clients by showcasing this case study to prospective customers.

How we helped

We created this new case study video. Based on fresh's Manchester offices, we interviewed the NVM directors and filmed the buzzy but contemplative creative offices at fresh, to show where the investment has gone. We gathered good positive feedback from the interviews. And finally we tied it all together with an NVM interview about the project challenges and their approach.


Our client is pleased with the short film and they use it on their website and in client presentations.

Learnings that may be relevant to your firm

In filming this production for fresh Group, we learned. We've shared a few of our lessons below; hope they can help you plan out your next video.

  1. Film your interviews informally - you'll get a richer response
  2. For your 'B' roll, film details that illustrate the subject (here it's 'creative office')
  3. Ask related but different questions in twin interviews
  4. Decide who the hero is and give them prominence (here we just used colour)
