Case study: Hertz International

Film: 'Listening Tour (Home Movie)'
This 3-minute European road show video was our first delivery. It was for internal use - staff watched it globally on the Hertz International intranet. Titled 'Listening Tour (Home Movie)', it collates phonecam footage from staff on the Senior Management Team's European tour and in particular of the use of rhythm and harmony to stimulate cross-country cooperation. It was 4-day edit and about 4 days' pre-production. The Hertz senior management team were playful people to work with.

The challenge

Hertz International is one of the largest car hire firms in the world. Their constant innovation and steady growth was challenging mult-national communication among management. The challenge was to use a European roadshow footage to celebrate success and reinforce cultural unity across European borders.

Our task

Our purpose was to demonstrate senior management's listening, spread the evidence of team unity and the family culture by filming and sharing a home-movie styled piece with all European offices.

How we helped

We created a 5-minute home-movie using phonecam footage from 5 participants; we viewed hours of material and subbed it all down. We filmed a few little creative listening and rhythmic icons. And we gathered together loads of stills, created graphics and home-movie montage sequences. To top it off, we recorded the music (written by Tom Morley of Instant Teamwork).

Outcomes

Lots of positive feedback from staff on the film. It's been shown worldwide on the company's intranet.
